Win $1000 for your cover or interpretation of your favourite NZ track.

The theme is "Moving the motu with the music"

Your version can be any genre or style...what we are looking for is your creative take on a piece of music music that moves you, and it's got to be a waiata from an artist or band from Aotearoa. It can be anything ... a festival anthem that you belt out at the top of lungs or a soulful ballad that's got all the feels.

The winner will receive

• $1000 cash plus airplay and feature on TAHI.fm and TAHI social channels.
• A chance to record the cover in the RNZ studios If you win and you live outside of Auckland or Wellington, flights and accommodation will be provided.

There'll be five finalists, and the four runners up will win $300 each. We'll get the public to help us choose the winner.

How to enter

Hit this link with the following

• A link to a video of your performance covering that one NZ song that really hits you with all the feels. Make it portrait, (like you'd do for an Instagram story), not landscape and don't add any images or text.
• A short blurb on who you or your band are and why you chose the track.
• If you have some photos that is ideal.

Some boring stuff

• Entries close 12 March at 5pm.
• The five finalists will be notified by 15 March.
• This competition is open to NZ residents only.
• Judge's decision will be final and no correspondence will be entered into.
• We will share your performance on TAHI social channels.
